WPCI members honored at national conference

Seven Indiana WPCI members scored national awards from the National Federation of Press Women, the organization announced during its annual conference June 27 in St. Louis.

Three WPCI members attended the conference: Vivian Sade, current president; Elizabeth Granger, high school contest director; and Kassie Ritman, professional contest director. They also served as delegates to vote on NFPW matters during the conference.

The Indiana honorees’ work previously had won first place in the WPCI communications contest. Their work competed with entries from NFPW affiliates around the country.

Honorees are:

Elizabeth Granger: Second place, specialty articles, hobby; honorable mention, specialty articles, business.

Natalie Hoefer: First place, photography; second place, special articles, history; third place, feature story; honorable mention, specialty articles, religion.

Sydney Leyerle: First place, collegiate, podcast.

Julie McGue:  First place, columns.

Kendal Miller: Second place, photography,

Vivian Sade: Second place, publication regularly edited by entrant.

Jessica Shrout: Second place, web and social media presence; honorable mention, public relations materials.
