Woman’s Press Club contest winners and members were among the honorees at the National Federation of Press Women conference in North Dakota in June.
Eight WPCI entrants, whose work won first place in the WPCI contest earlier this year, were awarded for their work:
Sabrina Rebekah Corwin, first place, infographics.
Sabrina Rebekah Corwin and Lauralee Hites, second place, public relations campaign.
Beth Edwards, second place, specialty articles, agriculture; third place, specialty articles, food.
Lauralee Hites, first place, blog, nonprofit, government or educational; honorable mention, advertising poster, billboard or banner.
Sabrina Rebekah Corwin, Lauralee Hites and Jessica Shrout, first place, marketing program or campaign.
Natalie Hoefer, third place, columns, informational; two honorable mentions, photographer-writer and specialty articles, history.
Julie McGue, third place, nonfiction book for adults readers, autobiography or memoir; two honorable mentions, columns, personal opinion and editorial/opinion.
Carol Michel, first place, blog, personal; second place, web and social media, podcast.
Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp, two honorable mentions, electronic newsletter, personal, and electronic newsletter, nonprofit, government or educational.
Jessica Shrout, first place, website edited or managed by entrant, corporate or for-profit.
WPCI president Natalie Hoefer attended the conference and reported that the NFPW contest included 1,734 entries, with intense competition.
The conference also celebrated Joan Bey for her 70 years of membership in both NFPW and WPCI, and member Helen Corey for her 60 years of membership. The late Ruth Chin was among those featured in a memorial to members who died in the last year.
The WPCI 2023 communications contest will launch this winter and the 2023 NFPW conference is June 22-24 in Cincinnati.
