Ten members win multiple honors

WPCI will honor 10 members for their award-winning work at the club’s annual communications banquet May 14.

The winners submitted a total of 43 entries in categories ranging from writing and editing to public relations campaigns and podcasts, and 23 of those entries won first place.

“Our members really wowed the judges with their expertise and creativity,” said Gena Asher, WPCI contest director. “Their work reflects how they are adapting to changes in their fields. We saw entries in billboard and social media campaigns, video and podcasts among more traditional categories such as reporting, editing, writing and photography.”

Winners will be honored at the WPCI annual communications banquet May 14 at Hollyhock Hill in Indianapolis, the group’s first in-person banquet in two years. WPCI also will award grants and scholarships that day.

All of the WPCI first-place entries will compete in the National Federation of Press Women communications contest, which includes winners in each category from NFPW affiliates around the country. WPCI is a founding affiliate of NFPW. Those awards will be presented at NFPW’s conference in June.
