Woman’s Press Club of Indiana sponsors a high school communications contest each year that honors the best work from Indiana high schoolers.
This year, students may submit work published (physically or digitally) or broadcast Feb. 1, 2020, to Jan. 31, 2021. Cost is $5 per entry. Deadline is Feb. 10, 2021, for all submissions.
Winners will be announced at the WPCI communications banquet May 15, 2021.
The contest is administered with the National Federation of Press Women, which lists all rules, categories and other information on its website. Students who win at the affiliate (WPCI) level will compete with high school first place winners from around the country. Those awards will be announced at the NFPW conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, June 10-12, 2021.
WPCI contest director Amy Smelser said most high school publications or journalism advisers organize the contest at the school level. For those who do not have an adviser or students with questions about how to enter may email her at info@wpcindiana.org.
